"What Remains on the Way" follows single mother Lilian and her four children as they migrate from Guatemala, joining a caravan of thousands of others on the way to the Mexico-US border, a dangerous, 3000 miles long journey.
The film is a true revelation of what it means to put your own and your children’s safety first. Told through the childrens’ point of view, it shows that migrants aren’t simply looking for ‘a better life’ elsewhere, but are trying to escape oppressive patriarchal structures and gender roles; sometimes, the answer is a new beginning.
