Directed by Chris Triffo • Documentary • 2000 • 48 minutes
This documentary tells the story and haunting legacy of the May 4, 1970 Kent State shootings. The unforgettable photograph of Mary Vecchio poised in anguish over the body of a slain student. The fervor of the wounded student activist still consumed by the need for justice all these years later. The former Guardsman living with a badge of shame few could imagine.
“May 4, 1970, is often called the “Day the War Came Home.” Fifty years later, it is important to remember that young people, whether soldiers in battle or battling for a cause, are often the tip of the spear of major societal change. It is also important to remember all that has been learned and lost in these fights.” —HistoryNet
