This compilation of newsreels sponsored by the Commonwealth Relations Office and the Central Office of Information, portrays the royal children at a young age. The footage shows the royal family carrying out a number of official engagements, and away from public life. There are images of Prince Charles as a baby including in his christening gown, and watching his mother’s coronation as a toddler. Later on, he and his younger sister, Princess Anne, travel to Malta on board the Royal Yacht Britannia and join their parents for an official visit to Gibraltar. We see the family at the Highland Games in Scotland, and at a horse show in Windsor. There is footage of Prince Charles in school, playing cricket with his peers, and later on, accompanied by his parents, arriving at his new boarding school. There are shots of Prince Philip and Prince Charles in a sailing boat, the family helping out at a charity event in Balmoral, and Princess Anne and Prince Charles enjoying a ghost ride and driving bumper cars at a fun fair. The film ends with pictures of new arrival Prince Andrew as a baby and a family outing on the grounds of Balmoral.
