Jean Cavalcanti attends a well reguarded private boys' school. He lives a carefree life of moderate privilege in a gated, custom built house in an affluent neighborhood in suburban Rio de Janeiro. His parents are more concerned with their image and maintaining their own wealth than keeping track of their children, and Jean is able to sneak out and explore often. He falls for and begins dating a less affluent girl named Luiza. When his father's hedge fund bursts, the entire family experiencs financial turmoil that they are not prepared for, and all of Jean's friendships and relationships are put to the test.
