Directed by Benoît Cohen • Drama • With Fanny Ardant, Nawid Elham, Pierre Deladonchamps • 2025 • 91 minutes
Celebrated actress Fanny Ardant stars as “France”, a well-to-do widow living alone in her Parisian apartment. When she hears on the radio that an NGO is pairing homeless refugees with those who have an available room, France decides to help. Through this, she meets a young Afghan refugee named Reza and, despite warnings from her friends and son, she welcomes him into her home and life. Inspired by the director's own experience, MY MOTHERLAND is a deeply personal film about two worlds that collide and come to a better place because of it.
