Directed by Ian Fordyce • Drama • With Tim Brooke-Taylor, Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Marty Feldman, Barry Cryer, Eric Idle, Bill Oddie, Aimi Macdonald, Mary Maude, Christine Rodgers • 1967 • 23 minutes
It becomes clear in this show that the number of hostesses is increasing by one every week and there are some wonderfully dry exchanges between Aimi Macdonald, Mary Maude and Christine Rodgers. Tim Brooke-Taylor gives the first of a series of bravura solo turns as the automatic hospital visitor (watch out for Bill Oddie as the hapless patient), while the Bookshop Sketch is a classic, later re-cycled in Marty and elsewhere, but this original (and best) performance was long lost, as this was one of the most recently recovered full episodes.
