Directed by Anne Le Ny • Drama • With Emmanuelle Devos, Karine Viard, Roschdy Zem • 2014 • 91 minutes
Two of the most critically acclaimed actors in modern French cinema, Karin Viard and Emmanuelle Devos, star together for the first time as two women who want more out of life-at work and at home. Devos plays Carole, who feels overshadowed by her husband, Sam (Roschdy Zem), a Michelin-starred chef. She takes a course at an adult training center where she meets Marithe (Viard) who wants to help Carole create a new, fulfilling life. The two women become close friends, but complications arise when Marithe encounters Carole's charming husband. Directed by actress-turned-director Anne Le Ny, who also appears in a supporting role, this is a romantic comedy with a vibrant restaurant backdrop that explores female friendship, love, lies and wanting something you can't have.
"A well-observed and -written drama leavened with touching asides and comedic moments… offers something of a masterclass in French acting."—The Hollywood Reporter
